A unique wedding card for Dave and Cavelle

A special card for a special couple!

Wedding cards are, typically, white. But, sometimes you just have to colour outside of the lines, right? For Dave and Cavelle, a more mature bride and groom, I decided on a nontraditional card that would suit the style of their wedding.

With a casual summer ceremony planned for outdoors by a pond, I liked the idea of earth tones and flowers for this card. I used Perfect Pearls to create little seed pearls around the flowers. What do you think of the effect?

Here is a close-up of the sweet sentiment on the front.

Although the photo that follows below is a bit blurry, you can see how I finished the inside of the card to be as pretty as the outside–I do this with every card. It’s more work, and more paper, but the finished product is worth the extra effort. My customers really appreciate the attention to details, too!

And, of course, no card is complete without a beautiful envelope. Scroll down to see the matching envelope. Notice the two wedding bands tied together with a bow–so romantic!

The Envelope

I used designer paper with a pattern on both sides so the envelope is pretty, inside and out. The little square of two-sided tape will make it easy to seal.

The finally touch on all Globug Ideas cards is my little ladybug tag on the back. (Sorry about the poor quality of the photo…I really must get a light box set up).

Mini-album for the bride and groom

If ever there was a “forever couple,” it’s my nephew, Eric

and his new bride, AnnMarie!

In my opinion, they did everything “right.” They both have good careers; they have a gorgeous home; and, most important of all,  they both have the same goals and dreams for the future. Great start, don’t you think?

I decided to make them a mini-album to include with the wedding gift. I found tons of great “couple” shots on their Facebook page. Thank you, modern technology!

To complement the photos, I found several awesome quotes about love and marriage. Add a few charms, ribbons and bit of bling and, voila, Bob’s your uncle…well, actually, Bob’s my brother…but, as I always say, THAT is another story! ;o)

Here is the mini-album, beginning with the front cover and some randomly selected pages (there are simply too many too post…and still have you interested). I hope it inspires you to create one for someone you love. Enjoy!

As I write this post, AnnMarie and Eric are on their honeymoon. They are spending three weeks in Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. Yesterday, they spent the day learning how to care for elephants–they even rode them through the jungle to the water for a big ole’ elephant bath. No westernized resorts for these two, they’re right in there, living in the little towns, learning the culture and doing like the locals. Last week they drank Cobra Venom Wine and at roasted crickets. Hmmm…give me a Diet Coke, any day!! I wish this beautiful young couple a life of love, happiness, good health and continued adventure!

Wedding Card for a Beautiful Couple

Well, the Big Day finally arrived! My wonderful nephew, Eric married the one and only AnnMarie, the girl of his dreams. It was such a joy and an honour to be part of their wedding and to celebrate with them after they had taken their vows. (My husband and I danced like no one was watching…we had a blast!)

So, back to Eric and AnnMarie…these two are Solid! I know in my heart that 60 years from now, they will still be in love and, what’s more, they will still be best friends! They are planning to start their family, soon, so there will be little Erics and AnnMaries to bring more sunshine and laughter into the world!!

I wanted to make them a special wedding card, and I wanted it to be simple and elegant. The photo above shows the front of the card. As  you can see, my Silhouette Cameo and my Cuttlebug got into the act, along with a little bit of creativity. I decided on an easel card. It was my husband’s idea to put their initials on the front…good idea, Sweet P.! Oh, and by the way, their wedding colours were teal, white and black, hence the teal roses.

Here is the card opened as an easel.

And, finally, here is the inside of the card. Lots of space to write messages!

The verse says: “May the Lord bless your life together and may you fall in love with each other over and over again. Happiness always!”

And to that I say, “Amen!”

P.S. I will also be posting tons of photos of the mini-album that I made for them…what a fun and joyful project!
