  1. Is there a specific way the blade fits into the holder? Not cutting through on vinyl after numerous setting adjustments and using both blades that came with machine. Thanks

  2. I am having problems with my blade. I believe the red line on the ratchet blade is off. At times when it is suppose to be at 1, it says 10, I think it moves every time it switch blade settings, I am getting very frustrated, I just started using it and I am wasting a lot if vinyl.

    • Hi, Nichole,

Let’s try troubleshooting using cardstock–it so much cheaper than vinyl. Once you’re sure that your blade is calibrated correctly, then try it again with vinyl.

Start by cutting a simple shape such as a square. If you use standard scrapbook weight cardstock (probably 80-lb), you will set your blade at about 7, speed 3, thickness 33. If this works out, then give your vinyl another try.

Let me know how it goes.
Note to my readers: if you have had the same problem that Nichole is having and have resolved it, please let us know what solution you used. We need to share our Silhouette experience so we all stay sane!! LOL!!

  3. I am so grateful to have stumbled across your blog. I, like many others, am struggling with my new Silhouette Cameo. The design is not being cut out correctly. I have changed my preferences to 500 like customer support suggested . Sometimes my machine makes very loud noises. They said the motor was off track. I really want to be successful but so far I have a trash can full of failure. Any feedback you could provide me would be most helpful.
