A Sweet Nativity Scene

Baby Jesus in His manager, with His mother, Mary, and father, Joseph, is the true symbol of Christmas in our house. I found this freebie on Melonheadz. It was so much fun to colour with my Copic markers! Of course, I had to add a little sparkle even to the manger scene! Here’s the inside verse…

And that’s it, sweet, simple and sincere!

  1. I bought my daughter the cameo for Christmas. And today we decided to experiment with scrapbook paper. She wants to do a script monogram in vinyl but wanted to practice on paper first. We set the blade at 2— went through 2 pieces of paper and al the blade did was a bunch of scratching– no discernible cuts and certainly not a monogram! And the paper stuck so badly to the mat that it was very difficult taking it off. What are we doing wrong?

    • Hi, Karen,

Sorry it took me so long to reply to you, but every January I am flooded with questions about Cameos–I guess they are a very popular Christmas gift!!

When you are cutting scrapbook paper or card stock, you should have your blade set at thickness 6, speed 3, thickness 33. A blade setting of 2 is for very thin media. As for your sticky cutting mat, I know!!! They are so sticky when they are new that they are impossible to use. What I usually do take a an old t-shirt, towel or face cloth and press it onto the mat and pull it off. Do this a few times and your mat should be good to go. Believe me, the mats lose their stickiness very quickly!!

I hope this helps. Come on back, anytime, if you have more questions!!

      Happy crafting,
