Everything’s Rosy birthday card…

If you love digital stamps and  you don’t already know about Power Poppy, you must visit the site and check out the amazing collection of realistic floral images. Marcella Hawley, the artist who creates these spectacular drawings, has an eye for beauty and puts her heart into every drawing. This particular image, called Everything’s Rosy, is my new favourite…until my next Power Poppy purchase. So, now, here is my second Everything’s Rosy card, this time for my daughter’s 49th birthday. I hope you like it.

I coloured this one with my Copic Markers and added a background paper of tiny delicate roses.

In the photo below, you can see the dimension in the cups, which I created with 3D Crystal Lacquer2016-07-23 Angie's 49th Birthday (3)

The thing that makes hand-crafted cards so special is the attention to detail. For example, I always finish the inside panels and the back of my cards to match the front. I also create a custom envelope for each one. In the photo below, I have just started to customize the envelope.

And, finally, here are the inside panels.

Typically, I add matching card stock to the top panel and include an inspiration quote appropriate to the occasion or recipient.

So, that’s it, for now. I hope this inspires you to create a pretty card for someone special in your life.

Pretty Peony Card

Pretty Peonies Birthday Card

Julie, July 30, 2016.jpg--cropped

I think everyone loves the sweet scent of peonies. Their delicate petals and pastel colours are one of spring’s special gifts.

These pretty peonies are by Marcella Hawley of Power Poppy. Just as a note, I’m not, in any way, affiliated with Power Poppy or Marcella Hawley, I just thought I’d include the link so you can visit her site and browse through the beautiful floral digis.

Julie, July 30, 2016.jpg--CU of cupI really enjoyed making this birthday card for my dear friend, Julie. As always, I coloured it with my Copic markers and then added shine and dimension to the cups with 3-D Crystal Lacquer. I tried to capture it on the striped mug, but I just couldn’t get the right lighting. I think you can see the shine and 3-D effect quite clearly on the polka dot tea cup. Isn’t it pretty?

A Quick and Simple Birthday Card

Happy 80th Birthday!

A lovely friend of the family turned 80 years young earlier this year. I made her a quick and simple–but very pretty–birthday card. I used my Cuttlebug to add some pretty embossing and then added my signature sparkle glue to give it some shimmer and shine.

Card front

A small strip of floral card stock on the bottom, with a dash of sparkle glue, provided a nice balance to the white top. The word “celebrate” in a pretty font completed this quick and easy card.

Here’s the inside…

As usual, I forgot to take the photo before we signed the card. Oh, well, I’m sure Shirley wouldn’t mind!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will pop in again, soon!

Box of Daisies–Birthday Card in a Box

Birthday Flowers!

Here are some photos of a card-in-a-box that I made recently for my mom to send to her sister in the hospital. I hope it made her smile! And, the best part is that these flowers will last forever!

When you first open the envelope, you see a flat card (it fits in a standard greeting card envelope)…

…but, just let it pop open and see the pretty bouquet!

On the back panel there’s a special greeting and room underneath to write a personal message.

Cute little card purse for Ashleigh

So easy to make!

This really cute purse card was so easy to make it’s almost embarrassing!

Purse Card Front

I found the purse shape in the Silhouette online catalogue. You can probably get something very similar for your Cricut. The design is so simple, you could also just make it yourself.

I love the bright floral designer paper I used on this one. I had been hoping to find somewhere to use this gorgeous paper for a long time and it was just perfect for the purse. A little bling and a pearl closure finished it off nicely. I tucked a cash gift inside for my granddaughter, Ashleigh. She loved the purse and the cash! LOL!

Ashleigh always carries a large and heavy purse with a ton of stuff inside. To eliminate the need to dig to the bottom of her bag to find her key chain, she hangs it from the handle. Smart cookie. Well, I just had to hang a key from this little purse, too.

Purse Card CU of Key

Maybe you could make one the next time you give a gift of cash or a gift card. You can get creative, too, and make it look like a wallet or a tool box or the pocket on a pair of jeans. Go crazy and have fun!

Thanks, so much, for stopping by!
