Pretty Peony Card

Pretty Peonies Birthday Card

Julie, July 30, 2016.jpg--cropped

I think everyone loves the sweet scent of peonies. Their delicate petals and pastel colours are one of spring’s special gifts.

These pretty peonies are by Marcella Hawley of Power Poppy. Just as a note, I’m not, in any way, affiliated with Power Poppy or Marcella Hawley, I just thought I’d include the link so you can visit her site and browse through the beautiful floral digis.

Julie, July 30, 2016.jpg--CU of cupI really enjoyed making this birthday card for my dear friend, Julie. As always, I coloured it with my Copic markers and then added shine and dimension to the cups with 3-D Crystal Lacquer. I tried to capture it on the striped mug, but I just couldn’t get the right lighting. I think you can see the shine and 3-D effect quite clearly on the polka dot tea cup. Isn’t it pretty?

Happy crafting, happy colouring, happy everything!

“Digistamps 4 Joy was born in July 2010. What began as a “brainwave” developed into a rather successful journey…  Started by Mel M, and with the help of talented artists and fellow South Africans JenLee, Margy, Sam, Laura and Mel herself, Digistamps 4 Joy was soon reaching an international audience.  Digistamps was a rather unheard of and new craft to many South Africans with most only having access to them if they had a credit card.  Mel and Jen started brainstorming and soon came up with the idea of starting an online store entirely accessible to all South Africans.  Mel having the experience in web and graphic design, and Jen being a wonderful illustrator work together as a team and produce most of the images many people around the world have come to know and love.  Among the many images, you’re sure to find something you like… from fun and whimsical to cute and funny right through to serious and beautiful. Every month a new freebie is available on the website.

The winner will get her choice of 6 images from the store

Slippin’ and ‘a slidin’ — CDACPC Card #1 of 5

Slippin' and 'a slidin' CDACPC#6 Card 1 of 5

Now, this is one cool bear!

Thanks, so much, to Designed2Delight for providing us with this cool bear digi for this, the last leg of the six-part (31-cards) CDAC Progressive Challenge.

I added the pretty trees in the background to balance the overall design. The trees are from Digis by Phooka.

The snow and trees are sparkling, even though you can’t see it in the photo. It’s really hard to get a great photo without the perfect lighting. I’m still struggling…but still trying!

Thanks so much, for dropping by. Please take a minute to leave me a comment–it will be the highlight of my day!

Crafter’s Digital Art Center Progressive Challenge #5-Card #3

Grammie's best yummy with a cup of hot chocolate!

Mmm…mmm…Grammie’s cookies, hot from the oven!

These cookies look almost real enough to eat! I coloured them with my Copic Sketch markers, and it was easy to blend the shades together to get a pretty realistic look.

Thanks to Digidrawn for providing this sweet image for us to use in CDACPC#5.

Two more cards to come…I’m keep my favourite until the last.

Crafter’s Digital Art Center Progressive Challenge #5-Card #2

Little girl in blue with big basket of gingerbread cookies!

Little girl in blue–what a big basket of cookies you have!

This little cuties was provided to us for CDACPC #5 by Shop Scrapbooking Supply.

The extra challenge was to create a card using either cool colours or warm colours. Obviously, little girl in blue is looking like a pretty “cool” kid!

Three more cards to come, for this challenge!
