Sympathy card–sweet and simple

A friend of mine recently lost his sister and I wanted to make a simple, but beautiful sympathy card for him. I had this lovely image, called Sweet Nectar by Pattie’s Creations, and decided it would be just perfect.

This time, I coloured with both my Prismacolor Pencils (which I haven’t done in a long time) and my Copic markers. (Note to self: order more pink Copics).

To keep the card simple, but elegant, I used the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder and then punched out a pretty floral border. So, now, I have to make a confession: when I added my coloured image, borders, etc., to the front, I attached them all upside-down.

So that meant my card was also opening upside-down. Well, as we all know, necessity is the mother of invention, right? So I sliced my card in half at the fold, and reattached the two pieces with a hinge I made by punching a strip of paper on both sides. It worked out pretty well, I think. In fact, I like it so much that I may do it on purpose, sometimes. And, for my second goof-up, I signed the card before taking a photo of it. Duh!

Oh, well, my heart was in the right place.

Thanks, so much for dropping by.

Big hugs,

Gloria
