A Birthday Card for Angie

Strike a Pose!

Every once in a while, someone snaps a photo of you that captures your true essence. The pic below of my daughter, Angie, is one of those great photos that just speaks volumes! In fact, it was the inspiration for her 46th birthday card.

The photo was taken a few years ago, but remains one of our favourites. She loved those pink raggedy slippers so  much that, on occasion, she had to be reminded to put on a pair of shoes before heading out of the house. That pose really says, “Angie!”. . .funny and fun-loving; clever and witty; sweet and charming.

Here’s the card I made for her, using this wonderful digital image by Mo Manning called, Gloria at the Pool, (coincidentally, Gloria is my name a.k.a. Globug).

See the resemblance?

The funny thing is that Angie loves to sit in the sun (plastered in sun screen, of course). She’s even been known to lounge in an inflatable kiddie’s pool on those dog-days of summer. I had fun colouring my Angie card with my Copic markers and cutting it out by hand.

So, what DO you do on your 46th birthday. . .

I am happy to say that Angie really liked her hand-crafted card. I LOVE making special cards and mini-albums for my family. Each little work of art is made with love. Between me and you, I hope they don’t throw my cards away. I’m very sentimental and have pretty much every card I have ever received…but that’s just silly, right?

Here’s a side view–as you can see, every surface of my cards are finished so they are just as pretty as the front.

And. . .the end!
