Next year, Sweetie

Next year, Sweetie

It’s back to school…for the big kids!

With autumn upon us and children headed back to the classrooms, the theme for the  Crafters Digital Arts Center (CDAC) Progressive Freebie Challenge #2 is, appropriately, Back to School.

This cute image was provided to us for this challenge by Ellephantastic. Isn’t it adorable? We’ve all seen this scene, before–preschoolers waving to their big brothers and sisters as the school bus whisks them away. “Next year, Sweetie,” says Mom, “when you’re a big boy.”

Well, my family is way past the first-day-of-school stage. My children are grown and my grandchildren are heading to college next year. But I do have sweet memories of my kids,  Angie and Neil, when they were oh-so-little, climbing onto the school bus on that sunny September morning. I remember how cute they looked in their new school clothes, Angie with her pretty blond pigtails and Neil with his long blond silky bangs. I wouldn’t trade that memory for all the chocolate on the planet!

Thanks so much to Ellephantastic for providing this beautiful image for us to work with!

    • Thanks, Hotwheels! I LOVE fall colours…my whole house is decorated in the warm, inviting colours of autumn.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!

    • Thanks, Ruza! I really like this image. Oh, and the buttons…my grandmother was a seamstress and she gave me all her buttons before she passed away in 1986. I have some really unique vintage buttons…didn’t know I would be using them on greeting cards!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment.
