CDACDC#3–Apples and pine needles

Autumn means crisp juicy apples and crunching pine needles underfoot

Crisp, juicy green apples!

On one side of my house there is a clump of huge pine trees. They are lovely to look at and provide wonderful shade on hot summer days. That said, they drop their needles by the thousands onto our lawns and porches. I picked up a handful the other day and thought surely I could find a place for them on my apple card…and, as you can see, I did. I guess apples and pine needs just say, “fall,” to me.

This is my fourth card for CDACDC #3. It was generously provided to us for this challenge by Glitter Babes. Thanks, Glitter Babes! I decided to get a bit silly with this card and use two floral papers just because I love them! It’s busy, to say the least, but I really like the combination of pinks and greens. I hope you like it, too!

CDACDC#3 – A card for Margaret

  Swallowtails and sunflowers

Swallowtails and sunflowers

Here is my third card for the CDACDC #3. This pretty image of a swallowtail butterfly resting atop a gorgeous sunflower was provided to us for this challenge by Just Inklined. Thank you Just Inklined!

I decided to keep it simple and elegant because I want to send it to a dear friend of our family who is just about to celebrate her 93rd birthday. Her name is Margaret and she is a very elegant woman who, to this day, dresses very stylishly. I’ve never seen her looking anything but exquisite! In her younger years, Margaret was a ladies’ fashion buyer for a large department store, and admits that fashion has always been, and still is, her passion. I hope I have her style and flare when I’m 92. Along with being a most fashionable and elegant lady, Margaret was also a great golfer and an accomplished seamstress. She’s a delight and an inspiration and I really  hope she likes this card.

CDACDC#3–I may be old, but I’m not stupid!

  I may be old…

My mother always says...

…but I’m not stupid. Yep, my mom inspired this card with her favourite saying, “I may be old, but I’m not stupid!” And she means it!

This sweet little old lady image was provided to us for the CDACDC#3 by Liastampz. Thanks, Lia!

On the inside of the card is the message, “And I didn’t forget your birthday! Happy birthday, kid!”
